What happened to the characters Shawn and Belle on Days of Our Lives?

I'm just starting to catch up on 4 years of missing Days of Our Lives. (yikes!) Just wondering what happened to the character Shawn? Did he go away to college or something because I don't see him in the show anymore. Also what happened to the character Belle? I know a different actress replaced her but I don't see or hear them mention Belle? Can someone help me and give me a brief overview of these two characters? Thanks!|||Belle and Shawn married, but she couldn't keep her affair a secret. She finally told Shawn that she had slept with Philip. Shawn wanted to file for divorce. But, before he could, Claire was kidnapped again. Belle and Shawn found her in Ireland. She had been kidnapped by Belle's biological paternal grandmother- Colleen Brady! On the way home from Ireland, Belle and Shawn's plane crashed. Thankful to be alive and given another chance, Belle and Shawn recommitted themselves to each other and Claire. The three of them left to sail around the world on the Fancy Face IV. During their absence, on screen characters sporadically mentioned a letter or post card from Belle and Shawn.

|||Shawn %26amp; Belle were replaced by different actors. The originals are on Gh now. After the truth about Baby Claire came out they ran halfway around the world from Phillip who was delusional with thoughts he could get Belle %26amp; Claire back %26amp; be a family again since he was once married to Belle,%26amp; Claire was thought to be Phillip's at first: . Phillip finally accepted that he was not Claire's father %26amp; later Belle %26amp;Shawn were married. Belle had a brief fling with Phillip the a few nights before her wedding to Shawn %26amp; that almost broke them up but Shawn forgave her later. I guess it was summer of 2008 John bought them a boat %26amp; now they're sailing around the world with their daughter.|||They (Shawn and Belle) got married and are off sailing around the world with their daughter, Claire. Hope mentions them in passing from time to time but they've been off the show for almost 2 years now.|||shawn and belle finally got their happy ending back at the beginning of this year they left salem and took claire with them and there currently sailing around the world
